Main activities
The main Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme outputs are the following:
- Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC) as a regional cooperation mechanism and knowledge network on LFM is established and fully operational;
- Strengthened capacities of national and regional stakeholders in adaptive landscape management and climate change;
- Established 6+1 fully operational national science-practice-policy network and 1 regional network for LFM;
- Cooperation and knowledge exchange between the WB region and GFMC, Switzerland and other relevant international stakeholders is consolidated a systematic;
- Developed country reports including LFM guidelines; national and regional strategy and policy guidelines on LFM;
- Implemented public awareness campaign fostering the knowledge on the relation between climate change and LF;
- Initiating multi-stakeholder policy dialogue for integrating LFM into broader frameworks at national level;
- Established and managed Competitive fund for community-based LFM in highly vulnerable regions to fire in the WB.
